Simply enough, the
downlink is the signal that is sent from the satellite orbiting the earth to the
satellite dish. In the case of DBS, the downlink is actually received at a
broadcasting center, and then redirected to your personal satellite. Currently
the downlink can also contain a wireless Internet signal.
